A carpenter left some wood,
Would not take it back.
I saw some dust where he left it,
But couldn't find his stack.

Once alive, but now twisted 'round.

No visible flesh,
Nor blood, nor bone,

Put into a pit.
Locked behind a steel grate.
Guarded all through the night,
still it goes out.
